Andy Roddick has to bow to the unavoidable and is now unable to overcome the knee injury that forced him to pull up lame against Wawrinka in the opening round of the Shanghai Masters last month. Roddick, who number six in the world, has withdrawn from the eight-man year end ATP World Tour Finals which starts on Sunday, November 22, at the 02 Arena in south-east London.
The loss of Andy Roddick means that Robin Soderling will replace him in the eight-man field and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France will travel as the first reserve.
